The cooler weather means it's time To hike. Let's meet at the museum and visitor center by the pond a few miles into the park. There are rest room and drinking water. We will set off on a colorful variety of trails including the Red. Yellow and Orange trails plus the Blue scrub jay trail. We will hike under the legacy trail and to the big pond with the lookout platform. We will then hike to the remote NW part of the park , a nice shaded area that isn't often hiked. On the return we will look for scrub jays. the only totally native to Florida bird that is endangered. I saw several of them when I hiked here a few months ago. Bring lots of water, sunblock, bug repellent, high energy snack and wear comfortable hiking shoes. The visitor center does sell ice cream and cold drinks that we can enjoy on our return. 508-932-6950 if lost or running late
