Let's Look for The Groundhog As We Walk Siesta Key Beach

Today the Ground hog looks for his shadow. Let's take a stroll on SKB and help him find it. We will meet at the picnic tables at the main pavillion before 9 AM. At 9 we will walk down to the water and along the beach to the far north end. About 1&1/2 miles, then retrace our steps. We will take a couple of short breaks if people want to splash in the water, This is a leisurely walk. If we see dolphins, sharks, ground hogs or manatees, we will stop for photos. Bring plenty of water, sun block, bug repellent, high energy snack and shark repellent. Total distance 3 miles. There are restrooms and drinking water plus snack bar at the start. Bring shoes because quartz is another name for the white sand. It is like walking on sandpaper. It feels good but after a few miles it will rub the flesh off your feet.
