Casual Bike & Hike: Palmetto to Emerson Point + Brunch?
Details
Join us for a casual bike & hike. Let's meet at the parking lot at the corner of Riverside Drive and 10th Avenue West before 08:00 AM.
Please don't use any of the parking spots along the marina, you might get into trouble for that!
Our bike ride leads through the historic part of Palmetto to Emerson Point on Snead Island. We will ride on paved roads or sidewalks, all bikes are fine. Total length will be 12 miles.
Once we are at Emerson Point Preserve, we will go for a little hike of approximately 1.5 miles total. The hike will follow several scenic trails within the preserve and will include an observation tower that allows for excellent views over the surrounding area. All trails will be on firm ground.
We will then continue our bike ride to the very end of the preserve where we will take a break. De Soto Memorial Park will be visible in the distance.
We will return a slightly different way to the meeting point in historic Palmetto.
If we are in the mood, we might end up at D's Breakfast & Burgers for Brunch. They always take good care of us and food is delicious.
Please bring along comfortable shoes, sufficient water, bug spray and check your bike before the ride. Bikes locks come in handy!
As always, if you have questions or need directions, you can contact us at (917)774-0941.
