Bike Fort de Soto with Picnic, Sunset Watching & Harvest Full Moon

Join us for a special evening at Fort de Soto Park!

We will bike for about 18 miles r/t, have a picnic at Fort de Soto Beach while sunset watching and on our return, we should be able to catch a glimpse of the Harvest Full Moon. Make sure you bring your bike lights and a bike lock!

Let's meet on 6th Ave S in Tierra Verde, there is plenty of free parking along the road. Please be on time and expect traffic along the way!

04:45 PM:
We will ride on a bike trail to East Beach. Distance will be 5.4 miles. Once there, we will enjoy the view of the Skyway Bridge (see event picture above).

05:25 PM:
We will continue with our bike ride on a paved trail to Fort de Soto Beach. Distance will be 5.1 miles.
Along the way we will stop at the pier and the Fort for sightseeing.

06:25 PM:
We will have a picnic on the beach while sunset watching. Feel free to walk around if you like, the beach is awesome. You might even want to get your feet wet or go for a swim. The sun will set at 07:21 PM.

07:45 PM:
We will ride back to the meeting point. Distance will be 7.6 miles. Along the way we should be able to catch a glimpse of the Harvest Full Moon.
Historically, its bright light allowed farmers to work late into the night to gather their crops. The moon will rise at 07:17 PM.

We should be back by around 08:30 to 08:45 PM.

Please don't forget your bike lights, bike locks, a picnic and sun protection.
Also check your bikes before the ride.

This will be a social event and no race!
