PLEASE READ ALL DETAiLS:
Join us for a morning hike at Pepper Ranch Preserve, part of the Collier County Conservation Properties. This is a beautiful, rugged preserve with wide-open views, wetlands, and a mix of scenic trails.
➡️ All participants must check in at the Visitor Center first.
⸻
Additional Directions to the Visitor Center
From the intersection of Lake Trafford Rd and SR-29 in Immokalee, head west on Lake Trafford Rd for 2.9 miles.
Turn right onto Pepper Rd and continue for 1 mile until the road ends at three gates.
➡️ Use the gate farthest to the left, which is the entrance to the Visitor Center and Campground.
Follow the dirt road for 0.2 mile to the parking area next to the office.
⸻
After Check-In
After checking in at the office, return to Pepper Rd, enter the access code to open the preserve gate, and continue on the main dirt road for 2.8 miles.
The Panther & Black Bear Trailhead will be on the left side of the road.
⸻
Hiking Plan
We will be hiking three trails, starting at the Panther & Black Bear Trailhead.
From there, we will complete Panther Trail and Black Bear, then walk over to the Kite Flight Trailhead to finish the third trail.
This route should give us approximately 6 miles of hiking across varied terrain.
Please be prepared for mud, uneven ground, wildlife, and native Florida flora and fauna.
What to Bring
• Sunscreen
• Sun hat or visor
• Plenty of water
• Optional hiking sticks
• Shoes appropriate for uneven terrain
Shoes may get muddy, so plan accordingly. Bringing an extra pair for the drive home is a good idea.
⸻
Please arrive on time so we can check in together and keep the group moving smoothly.
📞 If you are lost or running late, please call or text 312-404-8846.
Looking forward to a great hike 🌿🥾
