Let’s Hike Hickey’s Creek Mitigation Park → Then Lunch at Anarchy Ale Works
Details
5 mile Hike
Join us for a relaxed hike through Hickey’s Creek Mitigation Park in Alva, covering 5 miles through pine flatwoods along scenic Hickey Creek. This beautiful wildlife area features palmetto-oak scrub, pine flatwoods, seasonal wetlands, and several overlook points where we can enjoy views of the creek.
The park is co-managed by Lee County Parks & Recreation and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and supports important native wildlife, including gopher tortoises and the threatened Florida Scrub-Jay.
After the hike, we’ll head over to the newly opened Anarchy Ale Works for lunch. They typically have multiple food trucks on site, so everyone can grab what they’re in the mood for. It’s also a great opportunity to support a new local family-owned business in the community.
Trail Conditions
Provided we haven’t had significant rain recently, the trails should be relatively dry.
