🥾 Pre-Season Adventure: Testing the Trails at Flint Pen Strand
Details
Calling my exploring crew! 🌿🥾 You know who you are. I’ve missed seeing you all, so it’s time to start getting back out on the trails!
📅 Sunday, September 27
⏰ 8:00–10:30 AM
📍 Flint Pen Strand Wildlife Management Area
🚗 MEETING POINT: Lakes Parking Lot
🥾 Approximately 4-5 miles
Before we officially launch into full hiking season, we’re going to start exploring the trails and see what conditions are like after the summer rains. Be prepared for wet and muddy areas, uneven overgrown terrain, roots, standing water, wildlife, and changing trail conditions. It’s all part of the adventure!
I’ll be doing my first water hike out there in early September, so I’ll update the event once I have a better grasp on what’s passable and current trail conditions.
What to bring:
🥾 Closed-toe hiking shoes , sneakwrs or boots that can get wet and muddy
👟 Change of shoes and socks for afterward
💧 Plenty of water
🦟 Bug repellent
☀️ Sunscreen
🧢 Hat
🕶️ Sunglasses
👕 Lightweight, breathable clothing
🧺 Small towel for the car
🥢 Trekking poles if you prefer extra stability
Afterward, anyone who wants can join us for brunch nearby.
Can’t wait to get back out there with my exploring crew! 🌿🥾
