🦋 Fall Butterfly Count at Flint Pen Strand
Details
Come join us for something a little different! We’ll be participating in a Butterfly Count at CREW Flint Pen Strand, combining a morning outdoors with a local citizen-science project. Will hike through Orange, White & Red trails
We’ll explore the trails while learning to identify some of the butterfly species found here in Southwest Florida and help collect data that will be shared with the scientific community.
The count will be led by Connie Nagele, creator of the Butterfly Count Program and a member of the Naples Native Plant Society and North American Butterfly Association.
No butterfly expertise needed! The program is open to the public and beginners are welcome.
🦋 Optional Butterfly ID Training: There will be an optional Zoom training session. I will send out link on Oct 7th or when available.
💰 Cost: FREE
🎟️ IMPORTANT: You must register through Eventbrite.
RSVPing on Meetup does not register you for the Butterfly Count. Please reserve your spot through Eventbrite first, then RSVP here so we know who from Southwest Florida Solos will be joining us.
Come spend some time outdoors, learn something new, and help contribute to a local citizen-science project! 🦋🌿o
