Guided Hike at Caracara Prairie Preserve
Details
Join me with Collier Conservation for a guided hike through Caracara Prairie Preserve, one of Conservation Collier’s oldest preserves, followed by some additional hiking along the CREW Cypress Dome Trails!
I have 5 guests passes reserved for SW Florida Solos!! Event is sold out!
Our adventure begins with a 3.5-mile guided hike led by a Conservation Collier land manager. We’ll explore palm and oak hammocks, seasonal marshes, pine flatwoods, and open prairie habitats while learning about the preserve’s history, ecosystems, and native wildlife. The event us sold out!
We’ll follow the established Red Trail and get a sneak peek at one of the preserve’s newer trails!
The preserve is named after the Crested Caracara, a distinctive bird of prey that nests in the area. Keep an eye out for wading birds, raptors, migratory birds, and other native wildlife along the way.
After our guided hike, we’ll continue exploring CREW Cypress Dome, adding approximately 1.5 miles to bring our total adventure to around 5 miles.
