This is one of a series of walks that have been organised for a Facebook group for many years. The walk is 8 miles, starting along the famous regatta stretch of the Thames, then uphill and through the woods to the pretty village of Hambleden (possibility of a stop at the cafe or pub), and back via the impressive Hambleden weir. Probably two swims. If coming from London the suggested train is the 9:08 from Paddington, change at Twyford, arrive 9:57. One can also park at Henley station. Finish time of 17:00 is an estimate. Just wear whatever you usually wear to walk in and bring whatever you like to swim in, and a packed lunch; note you both walk and swim at your own risk, the leader does not have any particular qualification nor legal responsibility and there is no insurance. All welcome, including those who only want to walk not swim.
