Talk 1: Practical Approaches to Greening Your Cloud Native Practices

Abstract: The rapid advancement of technology has brought transformative advancements in various aspects of our lives, revolutionising communication, commerce, and nearly every industry. However, this transformation has also come at a significant environmental cost, with the energy consumption of data centers and computing infrastructure significantly contributing to global carbon emissions.
As we strive to build a more sustainable future, it is imperative that the DevOps community takes a leading role in minimising the environmental impact of our software and platforms.

Bio: With a career spanning over two decades from being at the technological forefront to holding senior management positions, Michael Mueller is a widely recognised figure within the cloud and sustainable IT industry. As an expert in cloud technologies, transformation and sustainable software, he’s not only worked for leading companies he also got elected as Co-Chair at the Green Software Foundation’s Policy Working Group. Michael shares his knowledge as lecturer at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and various industry conferences.

Talk 2: Accelerating Cloud Adoption in Banking and Insurance

The Cloud is a topic no one can avoid today. However, in Switzerland, big corporations, especially banks and insurance companies, are slow to adapt and migrate to the Cloud. Nevertheless, this slowly changes, and more companies are taking the step and starting to migrate to the cloud. When you start, one of the first questions is, what does this mean for my company? Jochen will talk about his experience from recent bank and insurance industry projects and point out the challenges and discussions you will face.

Bio: Jochen Zehnder is a Cloud-Native Consultant and Partner at 56K.Cloud. Jochen started his career as a software developer and gained valuable experience building a software development team. In addition to the technical challenges, he also learned about the issues companies and their personnel face when adopting new technologies. He now brings this experience to 56K.Cloud and their customers. He supports customers in Cloud and SaaS transformations and helps them introduce concepts like Biz/Dev/Sec/Ops to accelerate their time to market. Along the way, he is involved in the developer community with speaking engagements and as a Docker Community Leader and AWS Community Builder.

Talk 3: Best Practices for Creating your own GPTs

Abstract: This talk will cover the development and application of (Custom) GPTs, a specialized version of ChatGPT, designed for specific tasks. We will discuss best practices for creating these GPTs, including selecting relevant data for the knowledge base and leveraging features such as function calling. Through examples of effective prompts and use cases, attendees will learn how to utilize GPTs for a variety of innovative applications.

Bio: David Furrer – Principal Course Instructor & Technical Lead at gpttraining.ch David holds master's degrees from ETH Zurich and the University of St. Gallen. In 2019, he completed further training in data science and started working as a data scientist and data analyst. In 2021, he co-founded a blockchain data analytics platform that leverages machine learning. David is an early adopter of AI technologies / tools such as ChatGPT and GPT-4. He always stays on top of recent developments around LLMs – both in the tech space and academic realm. He has hands-on experience from implementing different GPT-based solutions, and prior teaching experience from a leading data science academy.

Talk 4: Generative AI, where are we? This session will navigate through the transformative landscape of Generative AI within the last year.

**Abstract:**We have moved far, and very fast! From the surprising debut of ChatGPT to the rollercoaster of expectations that never happened, now we have a better understanding of what is possible and what is not.
We'll discuss the limitations we discovered these models have and the use cases that are proving to be revolutionary in this new technology era. Come and discover how people are using Generative AI and if you have one, we will be happy to hear about it!

Bio: Ruggiero Dargenio is the founder of Duenders GmbH, and has a professional background in data and AI across multiple sectors, including pharmaceuticals, recruitment, no-profit and finance. Born in Italy and having gained his expertise at prestigious institutions such as ETH Zurich and MIT, Ruggiero still enjoys being hands-on applying Big Data and AI to solve complex challenges.
