- Why we start with machete-length weapons and then progress to the knife and long-weapons.
- Overview of the fighting system and its three subsystems.
- Grip and the development of the swordsman's wrist.
- The fundamental three steps to win without getting hit. Why it's easy to understand and hard to pull off.
- Combat geometry: the three timings, the four distances, the two blade orientations.
- Basic attacks: superiority of the diagonal attack, attack 1, attack 2.
- Footwork patterns: attack triangle, counter-attack triangle, ranging, broken footwork.
- Largo distance drill.
- Corto distance drill.
- Review.
- Homework assignments, personalized for each participant.
Dress comfortably for movement and the temperature. Bring water. Training weapons will be provided.
