What we're about

Welcome to the SOLDIWORKS User Group of New York City (SWUGNYC)

SWUGNYC is operated completely by volunteers with the aim of promoting the sharing of skills and information related to the use of SOLIDWORKS and to create a forum for networking within the design and engineering community.

SWUGNYC considers the specific needs of New York City area users, conducting regular meetings in easily accessible Manhattan and Brooklyn locations.

This group is open to anyone with an interest in expanding their knowledge of SOLIDWORKS and related technologies utilized in design & engineering fields.

Our goal is to create an atmosphere for relaxed professional networking - our events are very casual and we encourage members to share their work experiences.

You need not be a current SOLIDWORKS customer and membership is free of charge.

SWUGNYC is part of the SOLIDWORKS User Group Network which consists of more than 250 groups and tens of thousands of users across 25 countries.

We were named 2012 SOLIDWORKS User Group of the Year!

March Meeting with xDesign and 3D Scanning!

School of Visual Arts

Presentations by: David Antanavige, Certified SOLIDWORKS Expert and Founder of the Long Island SOLIDWORKS User Group, will present on xDesign. SOLIDWORKS xDesign is a new cloud-based platform that works inside of the 3DExperience platform. For current SOLIDWORKS Users, this is a new way of creating parts and assemblies using SOLIDWORKS-like functions with the additional power and freedom of cloud computing. In this presentation, we will walk through all of the essential functions used to create geometry and references. We will discuss the 3DExperience platform and how to access Xdesign. We will systematically move through the GUI and toolbars. Arthur Young-Spivey, an expert in digital fabrication and co-organizer of SWUGNYC will show tips for working with mesh geometry from 3D Scans, or programs like ZBrush and KeyShot, in SOLIDWORKS 2019. This meeting is sponsored by Rapid, a Protolabs Company and the SOLIDWORKS User Group Network. https://www.protolabs.com/ http://swugn.org/
