Topic
Two years ago, you hid the fact that you had been retrenched. Today, senior engineering leadership are placing 'Open to Work" on their LinkedIn profiles. What has changed? And how do you navigate job hunting in 2024?

We have three speakers sharing their insights about job hunting and being available to job hunters.

Ted Tencza
I most recently started my own consulting company. Prior to that I was managing multiple teams at Atlassian, both Operational and Development, focusing specifically on our SaaS offering, as well as working on improving the recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of our new developers.

Joel Hynoski
Experienced technology leader with over 25 years in managing, designing, and implementing engineering solutions. My teams are productive, accomplish great things, and are happy and empowered.

Fiona Chan
I'm a technical recruiter and former front end developer. Everyday I talk to developers, connecting them with the right opportunities, and I absolutely love it :)
I also love being involved in the community and sharing my experience with others through public speaking and blogging. I'm a co-founder of the meetup SydCSS (http://sydcss.com) and a regular stage manager at tech conferences.

Format

The evening kickstart with some networking, drinks and food.

Then each speaker will talk for approximately 15 minutes. The speakers will then form a panel through which Q&A will happen. Approx 20 minutes but goes on longer if the interest is there. We will also have a timeslot for companies and people to call out 'open to work' and 'looking for people'

The rest of the time is networking and a chance to meet fellow tech leaders.
