Bi+ Visibility Day Sydney Picnic

Details

Sydney Bi+ Social Club and Sydney Bi+ Network are inviting you to the 2023 Bi+ Visibility Day Picnic at Garraway shelter in Parramatta Park, Burramattagal Land, on Sunday, 24 September from 12pm.

Bi+ Visibility Day recognises and celebrates bi+ people, the community, and the history of bisexuality and multisexuality. Bi+ is an umbrella term that refers to people who experience attraction to more than one gender in any way, to any degree. People who experience multi-gender attraction may use other labels or no labels to identify themselves. Some of these identities include bisexual, pansexual, polysexual, ominsexual, queer, fluid but are not limited to these terms.

Come celebrate Bi+ Visibility Day, enjoy a chill social environment outdoors with some snacks and fellow bi+/queers. This is a kid-friendly event and all people who support the bi+ community are welcome.

BYO food: Please bring along some food to share. Please note that the park is an alcohol-free zone.

ACTIVITIES

The picnic is a flexible casual social gathering with very little structure. Bi+ 'love letters' is an optional activity offered on the day. A supply of paper, pens and envelopes is provided during the picnic with the aim to write personal messages to anyone you formed a connection with to thank them for a conversation, share your contact details, tell them why bi+/queer events matter to you, etc - the message is entirely up to you. Once a message is written it's folded and placed in an envelope which is given to the receiver who will only open and read the message after the event is over. The activity is provided to aid conversations, engagement and connections and is optional. More instructions provided on the day.

COVID SAFE

If you are feeling sick on the day, please stay home.
