Details

UPDATE: We aim to start the event at 5:15pm and finish about 8:30pm.

This September, we want to invite you to celebrate Bisexuality Week (also called #BiWeek, Bisexual Awareness Week and Bisexual+ Awareness Week 6 - 23 September) and International Bisexuality Day (23 September) by enjoying a creative evening with fellow queers and talented Ollie πŸ’–πŸ’œπŸ’™.

We're also thrilled to host this event on the International Day of Peace (21 September).

Please support fellow queers and donate here - all proceedings go to our dear guest co-host and zine workshoper, Ollie. We want to support his creativity and kind acceptance of our offer to host this event. When you make your donation, please include a note (see photo below). All other donations are also welcome.

Oliver (Ollie) Vincent Reyes is a freelance creative who is always seeking collaboration and insight from a community, grassroots perspective. He is located and operates across both Darkinjung and Gadigal countries. As an avid zine collector and maker, Ollie asks you to let out your inner zinester during this workshop!

The goal of 'Zine Time' is to create a non-commercial publication with your choice of 'DIY' content.

All too often, our communities are removed from their bodily and vocal autonomy over the subject matters that are paramount to our lives. By creating a zine, we as a community can bypass traditional publishing methods and online censorship to reach each other and circulate the ideas that matter to us. This could include writings, collages, drawings or winging it on the spot. This workshop will focus on the basics of zine production and how to create an 8-page fold zine.

WHAT TO BRING:

All you'll need to participate is a small pencil case with a pen or pencil, glue stick, a pair of scissors and one (1) magazine you'd be happy to collage and share with the group. For those who are comfortable with sharing their final product, we will have the capacity to scan and print your zines to trade within the group.

We look forward to seeing you πŸ’–πŸ’œπŸ’™.
