AI Workshop: Designing Email Youtube Summaries app

• In this workshop, you're going to learn how to setup a recurring email that summarises the latest videos from your top 5 fave YouTube channels over the last 30 days.

🎯 What you'll learn:

🧩 Scrape profile data, videos, timestamped transcripts and comments from your favourite YouTube channels using YouTube Data API v3, and the YouTube transcript API.

🧩 Use generative AI to summarise what's happening in a single YouTube video: A simple dot-point summary, an actionable takeaway list, applying ideas to your personal goals.

🧩 Create an email template with a branded header, an intro, your GenAI summaries plus a link back to the original videos, and a CTA. I'll also provide a mini library of different email use-case examples with templates you can copy.

🧩 Setup a recurring email that sends you your custom summary via SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol)

I'm also aiming to help you learn how to extract clips based on custom queries. If there isn't time to work that in, I'll include it as part of the newsletter deep dive that will accompany the workshop afterwards.

The reason I love YouTube as a case-study so much, is that there is a range of data to play with (video content, audio content, transcripts including timestamps and comments).
