Live and unscripted with a .NET OSS project

Details

In November we talked about the future of Sydney Alt.NET and making things more valuable and engaging whilst lessening the load on the time-poor organisers.

One of the big themes that sparked interest was making the meetup more interactive and hands-on. Ideas like mob/pair programming, "show us your code" group reviews, unscripted live coding, and exploring OSS internals were all related to this theme.

To kick off the new year we're aiming to do this, and in a way that works for live streaming.

We'll start by asking you to choose one project from a small selection of .NET OSS projects. We'll then either build something with it, try to make a small contribution back to it, or explore it and see how it works. The approach we take will depend entirely on what's chosen!

Know that whatever we do, it'll be unprepared and unscripted, with no pre-existing knowledge required. We'll all be learning together and having some fun along the way!

We also want you to be back-seat drivers! Ask questions, offer help, laugh at our mistakes, and/or provide insights as we progress. Who knows? We might even invite some of you to join the live stream or a VS Code live share session to help us out!

Here are the projects to choose from for this month:
