Wondabyne to Pindar Cave

Pindar Cave is an impressive sandstone overhang, capable of sheltering perhaps 50 people. Nearby is a pretty waterfall.
From Wondabyne station we will follow the Great North Walk track up to the ridge. The track up is well cut and is steep. At the top we follow a Fire trail for about a kilometre and then follow a track along the ridge to Pindar Cave for lunch.
After lunch we retrace our steps to Wondabyne station.
Start Location: Wondabyne Station
Transport: 8:50am Central Coast train from Central Platform 12 arrives Wondabyne station at 9:57am with stops at Strathfield, Epping, Hornsby and Berowra. You need to inform the guard at the rear of the train that you wish to get off at Wondabyne station. You need to be in the LAST carriage and exit via the rear door of the last carriage. The platform at Wondabyne station is very short.
Trains return to the City every hour from Wondabyne.
NOTE: There is no vehicle access to Wondabyne Station.
Distance: 14Km
Terrain: Majority on bush tracks with some walking on Fire Trail. One 100m hill start (Easy-Medium walk).
WHAT TO BRING. Please wear good bushwalking shoes and bring a hat, sunscreen, rain jacket, first aid kit, picnic lunch and 2L water.
