Details

This walk starts by taking the ferry from Brookyln Wharf across to Little Wobby. From Little Wobby wharf, we head along the Pacific Trail to Rhino Beach and take the Defile Track up to the top of the escarpment for panoramic views of the Hawksbury area. Following along the edge of the escarpment, we make our way to Tank Creek.

On Tank creek there is a number of swimming holes and small waterfalls ending in a large waterfall that drops down to the ocean below.

After lunch and a swim we return to Little Wobby to catch the 3:00pm ferry back to Brooklyn Wharf.

Distance: 15km
Terrain: Bush tracks, Fire trails and roads, One 120m ascent and descent.

Transport: The ferry leaves Brooklyn Wharf at 9:15am.
The Newcastle Interchange via Strathfield train (CNN) leaves Central station at 7:48am from Platform 12 and arrives Brooklyn Station at 8:50am.

Brooklyn Ferry Service costs $10.90 each way ($5.50 concession). Opal card is now accepted. Tap on and off at Brooklyn Wharf.

WHAT TO BRING. Please wear good bushwalking shoes and bring a hat, sunscreen, rain jacket, first aid kit, picnic lunch, 2L water and bathing suit if you want to go for a swim.
