Micro-domestic touristing the foreshore trails of Drummoyne to Abbotsford
Details
***Alas, the weather forecast for this Sunday, 23 July, is pretty much wet and windy. I have no desire to be soaked to the skin yet again. So I am holding the ride on Saturday, which currently has "plenty of sunshine" forecast.***
*Not open to newcomers. If you have not ridden with us before, you can join one of the free Newcomers rides, listed from time to time.*
This 35+km ride is only for confident road riders who can handle lots of little climbs as we make our way to the picturesque foreshore trails of Drummoyne and Abbotsford. "Dog leg turns" aplenty on this ride, so the group will have to stick together as much as possible.
Please meet outside Scape Redfern, corner Lawson & Abercrombie Streets, across the road from Redfern Station. Early on in the ride, we will be going through Newtown and Annandale, for food & beverage at the Trafalgar Street Espresso, so that we are well-fuelled for the ride ahead. This will be a brunch stop for me. After brunch, we head for the Bay Run on our way up to Drummoyne. You will all be pleased to know that we are going under (rather than over) Gladesville Bridge as we make our way to Abbotsford. The return leg goes through Five Dock and Stanmore, with the ride terminating back where we started in Redfern.
BYO bike in good working order, bike lock, helmet, water, money and *****Fully-Charged BIKE LIGHTS***** if you are riding home after sunset.
Be Covid-vaccinated.
