Ride to Mahons Pool in Maroubra for a New Year's Dip

Welcome in 2024 with a New Year's Swim!

Ride to Maroubra Pool along the Cooks River cycleway and Airport drive cycle way from Leslie Muir Reserve (near Canterbury Station).

Its only 20 k but lots of hills at the beach end.

I will ride back to Junior Kingsford light rail stop to get home afterwards, but you are welcome to ride back if you want more hilly torment!

On the way, once we get off the airport drive, there is a bit of road riding.
We will be going slowly (safety over speed) and on the footpath wherever possible. Our aim is to have fun and explore, but you must take responsibility for your own safety, particularly with road riding.

Slow down for children, the elderly, and unleashed dogs! You should always adjust your speed to your environment when sharing a path. Ride according to the path environment, your experience and skill level.

This ride will go ahead if its sprinkling or light rain, its nice and cooling! But understand the risks of riding in the rain.
If it looks like lightning and thunder that morning we will cancel.
