Join us for a fantastic day exploring one of Sydney’s most unique coastal areas! We’ll discover the historic Bare Island Fort, then follow the stunning Cape Banks walking track along Botany Bay. This walk offers incredible ocean views, WWII history, and beautiful, less-crowded beaches.
### 🥾 Trail & Discovery Highlights
- Bare Island Fort: Built in the 1880s to defend Sydney, this picturesque fort is connected to the mainland by a historic footbridge. You might recognize it from Mission: Impossible 2!
- Congwong Beach: A calm, family-friendly beach perfect for a refreshing dip.
- Henry Head: Explore the remains of a WWII battery and enjoy spectacular coastal views.
- Cape Banks: Walk out onto the rocky headland, a prime spot for whale watching (in season) and to view the wreck of the SS Minmi.
### 📅 Itinerary
10:00 AM – Meeting point 1: Central Chalmers Street (L3 light rail station)
11:00 AM – Meeting point 2: Anzac Pde Terminus
11:00 AM – Explore Bare Island and the footbridge
11:30 AM – Start the Cape Banks walk from Congwong Beach
12:30 PM – Reach Henry Head and Cape Banks (with stops)
1:30 PM – Return to La Perouse / Take bus to Juniors Kingsford and optional lunch

- First-time attendees: $10 AUD (supports group coordination)
- Returning members: FREE
- Additional costs: Bus fare (Opal card day cap), lunch
