Have you ever considered if your favourite games are green? And what does it even mean for a game to be truly green? Dr. Benjamin Abraham has asked the questions, and done the research. In this talk, he offers practical advice on meaningful action all game studios and professionals can take to be truly climate friendly.

About the Presenter:
Dr. Benjamin Abraham has been involved in the digital games industry since founding the games blogosphere aggregator ‘Critical Distance’ in 2009, with his games writing having been discussed by industry leaders like Clint Hocking, Antony Burch, Manveer Heir, and others. As a researcher at the University of Technology Sydney, his work for the past several years has focussed on ensuring the sustainability of digital games and his first book, Digital Games After Climate Change, was published by Palgrave in March.
It looks at what the games industry needs to do to adapt to a climate changing world, and how it can help achieve sustainable development goals. Ben has recently moved on from academia and to take on consulting work helping developers achieve their net zero targets.
