Details

Make the most of these beautiful summer days with a paddle to Lovett Bay and Scotland Island on Pittwater.

Paddling around Lovett Bay and Scotland Island, offers an interesting paddle as well as a fine picnic ground on the Island. We will be setting off from McCarrs Creek Reserve and paddling along the foreshores of the National Park to reach Lovett Bay. From there we will paddle across to Tennis Court Wharf, on Scotland Is for a short brake and morning tea (bring something to snack on as there are no shops on the island). We will then return to McCarrs Creek for a post-paddle Bar-B-Q.

McCarrs Creek Reserve is located on the junction of McCarrs and Cicada Creeks, Church Point. If coming from Manly, follow Pittwater Rd all the way to Church Point (Post Office/Café) and then continue 3.3 kilometers until you reach McCarrs Reserve on the right hand side. The site can also be reached if coming from the western suburbs by taking McCarrs Creek Rd at Terry Hills off Mona Vale Road. The entrance can be difficult to see so look for the Pirate Flag.

Once you enter the reserve, take the first turn on the left and follow it to the car park and launch site. The site has unmetered parking along with toilets and bar-b-q facilities. Be sure not to leave valuables in your vehicle.

Make sure you bring, water, sun screen, hat, footwear, swim gear and something for the Barbie. We will supply salad, oil and cooking utensils but you will need to supply your own food and drink.

NOTE: It is a condition of this paddle that life vests are worn while on the water.
