The first annual Computational Law & Blockchain Festival (#clbfest2018) is a three-day global event bringing together coders, designers, lawyers, policymakers, researchers, and students to co-create the future of law, legal practice, and policy. In the spirit of decentralization, the Festival is hosted at independent, self-organized nodes in cities around the world.
The Sydney node will be hosted by the UTS Faculty of Law at the UTS Hatchery.
Day one - LEARN - 17 March
Want to learn more about blockchain and computational law? This is your day! Come by to hear from industry experts in law, technology and business - we'll be covering all aspects.
Day one features speakers from Horizon State, Checkbox, UTS Faculties of Transdisciplinary Innovation, Engineering and IT, Prose, Corrs Chambers Westgarth, Consensys, UTS Faculty of Law, Data61, UCOT and more!
Day two - DISCUSS - 18 March
Day two will feature a ‘Global Symposium’ (live-streamed to the other nodes and the world), facilitated by Dr Pip Ryan, barrister and lecturer at UTS Faculty of Law, that addresses core policy areas related to blockchain technologies and cryptocurrencies in these areas:
• Taxation
• Securities Law
• AML/Financial Surveillance
• Financial Services Licensing/Chartering
• Privacy & Security
• Tokens
• Smart contracts as legal contracts
The symposium is your chance to contribute to a global discussion spanning 40+ jurisdictions that will result in one of the most diverse collections of blockchain subject matter expertise ever collated!
Day two - ACCELERATE - 18 March
On day two we will also be running the AWS One Day Accelerator. If you are an early stage blockchain start up, this is your day! AWS One Day Accelerator
