About us
A literature and philosophy book club based in Sydney dedicated to serious reading and thoughtful discussion. We work through classic and challenging texts—from Plato and Greek tragedy to Nietzsche, modern literature, and contemporary philosophy—with an emphasis on close reading, intellectual curiosity, and genuine engagement with ideas.
This is a group for people who enjoy discussing books in depth rather than skimming summaries or trading hot takes. Meetings are relaxed and open to newcomers, but participants are encouraged to come having actually read the material. No academic background is required—only a willingness to think carefully, ask questions, and engage seriously with difficult texts.
Our selections span philosophy, literature, politics, religion, psychology, and history, with discussions focused not only on what these authors believed, but why their ideas continue to matter.
