Background compaction is a new feature in MongoDB 8.0 that automatically reclaims space without any user intervention. It adapts its activity to your application's needs to minimise disruption and compacts files whenever suitable. This talk will be delivered by the MongoDB Storage Engines engineers: Etienne Petrel & Sean Watt.
