NOTE NEW DAY/TIME & OLD VENUE. Helena Blavatsky: Her Life & Legacy

Details

Russian aristocrat Helena Blavatsky blazed a trail through both Western and Eastern spiritual and mythological traditions. She audaciously challenged restrictive orthodoxies, creating a blend of ancient wisdoms called Theosophy.

Revered and reviled, hailed as both icon and fraud, Madame Blavatsky remains controversial nearly a century and a half after her death. Her influence continues in the New Age movement and the acceptance of once peculiar practices such as yoga, meditation and mindfulness.

Life-time believer in free thought and unfettered exploration Keith Howes is a journalist, historian and facilitator of many courses at Sydney’s Blavatsjy Lodge. Though Helena Blavatsky died before electricity, telecommunication and moving pictures, Keith brings her prescience on human autonomy back to life. If Blavatsjy returned what sort of force and power would she be, and could she challenge the entrenched elites and provide exciting solutions to the problems that face humanity?
