The Great Gatsby (1974) is based on the 1925 novel by American writer F. Scott Fitzgerald. Set in the Roaring 20s Jazz Age on Long Island, near New York City, the story depicts the first person narrative of Nick Carraway (Sam Waterson) & his interactions with the New York high society, parties hosted by a mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby (Robert Redford) and his obsession of reuniting with his former lover, Daisy Buchanan (Mia Farrow).
