St Peters - Bexley North via International Airport + Bat Colony! 14KM Moderate
We meet at St Peters Train Station by no later than 10:30AM and head to Sydney Park for great views back to the CBD, and a quick tour of this nature reserve gem. Into Alexandria Canal, we follow through to Sydney International Airport (using the brand-new Sydney Gateway bridges and walking paths) to the best plane spotting spot in Sydney by using a sneaky hole in the fence!
We head into the International Terminal for the food court and clean bathrooms!
Lunch done, we use the airport back exit, an elevated walkway that lands us across the Cooks River at Wolli Creek and Tempe. We head upstream on the Two Valley Trail, checking out the local bat colony and push along this hidden bush track to Bexley North where, 14KM done, we find the train station and the local pub for members who fancy a beer or other refreshment.
Distance: 14km
Type of Walk: Varied urban and bush trails with an airport, a hole in the fence and bats!
Difficulty: Easy
Walking Pace: 4.5KM/HR
Meeting Place and Transport: We meet at St Peters Train Station by no later than 10:30AM.
PLEASE PLAN TO BE EARLY RATHER THAN 'JUST ON TIME' FOR THE START. I cannot delay the event start time.
What to bring: Good walking shoes/trail-runners; 1.5 litres of water, refill along the way; hydrolytes; high energy snacks, one lunch; light rain jacket; sunscreen/cap or hat.
MEMBERS CAN PURCHASE FOOD AND REPLENISH HYDROLYTES, ETC, at our lunch stop - Food Court, International Terminal, Sydney Airport.
