Whale Watching Day: La Perouse - Malabar headland - Coogee 19KM Medium/Hard

Lets spend the day hunting for Humpback whales! What more fun could we have!

We meet at La Perouse bus stop, opposite Cann Park, by 9:00am and head off through the wonderful Botany Bay National Park and out to the ocean from where, hopefully, migrating humpback whales will appear for us to marvel at.

We take a morning tea and bathroom break at Malabar, before traversing Malabar Headland and heading into Maroubra Beach for our lunch break.

From Maroubra, its 5km of beautiful ocean front, and hopefully more whales, through to Coogee Beach where we join buses back to Bondi Junction or Sydney CBD.

Distance: 19 km

Type of Walk: This walk is a full day adventure along world class beachfronts and, hopefully, lots of lovely whales! NOT TO BE MISSED!!

Difficulty: Medium/Hard, but lots of get-out points.

Walking Pace: We will maintain a steady pace all day and average 4.5 km per hour. We must finish by 3:30PM.

Meeting Place and Transport: Members MAKE THEIR OWN ARRANGEMENTS BUT PLEASE BE AT LA PEROUSE BY NO LATER THAN 9:00AM.

What to bring: Trail runners/trainers; 1.5 litres of water, refill along the way; hydrolytes; morning tea; lunch snack(s); cap; light rain jacket depending on conditions. THERE IS TASTY FOOD AVAILABLE AT OUR LUNCH BREAK.
