Woolooware, Botany Bay, Brighton-Le-Sands, Wolli Creek 21km Medium
From Woolooware Train station we head for the newly curated foreshore walk around southern reaches of Botany Bay and find our way to the Captain Cook Bridge which lifts us over the Georges River and into Sandringham. We follow the western shoreline through to Ramsgate, where we stop at local shops and a bathroom for our lunch break. LOTS OF TASTY FOOD AT THIS LOCATION!
After lunch we head into little known walking tracks that take us through Scarborough Ponds and exit these parks by returning to the Botany Bay foreshore, with fantastic views of planes landing at Sydney airport. We stop at Kyeemah, for a bathroom break and a snack for the hungry ones!
We have 4 km to go, which takes us along local creeks and past an historic, extensive 19th Century Chinese market garden, which is one of the last working farms in the Sydney metropolitan area.
We finish up at Wolli Creek train station is just 600 meters away.
I aim to complete the day’s walking by 4:30 pm.

We take a short lunch break at Oatley Castle (yep, there is a Castle, sort of) where a clean bathroom is also available.

- Lindfield to Eastwood - Lane Cove River + Asian Dinner! - 17KM (Medium)Lindfield, Lindfield
Details: Lindfield to Eastwood - Lane Cover River + Chinese Meal! - 17KM (Medium)
We will meet at Lindfield Train Station by 10:30am.
Local roads drop down to Lane Cove River Park where we cross to the west bank of the river and head upstream through this wonderful river valley. About 5km in, we stop for lunch at Commandment Rock Picnic Area which has a great river view and bathroom! Yay!
After lunch we head for De Burgh's Bridge which we cross to access the east bank of the river which we track through to the river crossing at Brown's Waterhole, where we leave the river and join Terry's Creek which tracks west, under the M2 and then Epping Road and on into the suburbs of North Epping and Marsfield. Finally, we find Eastwood train station and the end of the walk.
Now, I have timed this walk to arrive at the Eastwood shopping area at early dinner time for one simple reason; this is the best concentration of Asian restaurants in Sydney - Chinese, Korean, Japanese. So, make plans for a tasty end of walk meal, if you wish!
We should arrive at Eastwood by about 4:00pm
Distance: 17km
Type of Walk: This wonderful river walk requires some effort, especially in the middle sections; there are no huge hills but a fair bit of up and down. Perfect for working up an appetite!
Difficulty: Medium-plus. We will not be sprinting but there are few easy get-out points.
Walking Pace: We will maintain a steady pace all day and average 4km per hour.
Meeting Place and Transport: Meet at Lindfield Train Station by 10:30 am. Transport back is by train from Eastwood Station.
