Join us back at the Microsoft Reactor for November's Sydney Video Technology meetup. This will be the last meetup of 2024, we will be returning in January. To finish the year with a bang we've got some great speakers.

Special thanks again to our sponsors who keep us fed and hydrated; and the social atmosphere we foster as a community of leading video tech experts. Tonight's presenters:

Emily Dawson - Director @ Stem Media
Why Newsrooms are so inefficient and what to do about it

Chris Miceli Principal Reliability Engineer @ Canva
The plight of user generated content

Oliver Lowe SRE at Audinate
AV over IP protocol development
Livestream programming accidentally went viral on Twitter. Oliver has a story on how the typical "web dev" stuff you read about raises different challenges (latency, compatibility, reliability, portability) that are not well documented, unsexy. But if those problems and protocols are so unsexy... why did the livestreaming go viral? Why does the livestream audience beg for advice on what they can do to get into this kind of work?

Sponsorship for the evening will be provided by Brightcove
Stick around with Fastly for after event social drinks

A reminder: we have some openings for talks in 2025 and encourage anyone to come share your experience to supportive audience.

Looking forward to seeing you all there, please cancel your spot if you can no longer make it.
Sydney Video Technology is a volunteer group, as part of many groups independently run around the world. Tonight's hosts will be: Jeremy Brown, Adrian Britton and Grégoire Duché.
