Zouk is a partner dance which emerged from lambada in Brazil in the 90s and is easily recognised by its iconic elegant and flowing movements with influences from ballet, contemporary and hip hop dance styles.
The name means 'party' in French Antillean Creole and was adopted by dancers in Brazil who started to dance to French Caribbean Zouk music.
Nowadays, zouk is danced to a wide range of popular musical styles including pop, RnB and house.
