About This Walk: Waverton is a part of Sydney's heritage. Along with Balls Head lookout, and sweeping views of the city, there are hidden secrets about this inner suburban spot. This walk is an easy going walk, and well worth bringing your camera for some of the views too. McMahons Point is also a place of interesting shipping history and heavy industry. Despite its 'suburban gentrification' it holds many hidden clues to a transitional time in the early 20th century.
Where is Waverton? I've often been asked this question, it's a part of North Sydney, only one rail stop less than 1km from Nth Sydney and Waverton itself is approx 2 kms from Sydney CBD as the crow flies.
After the walk we will go to a lovely fully air-conditioned evening cafe in the area at McMahons Point. Please bring your cameras to take pictures of the area and views.
How To Get There:
- Trains run thru Nth Sydney to Waverton all day long and also from Hornsby direction. Waverton is less than 1km from Nth Sydney.
- Parking, ...as our walk ends at a cafe at McMahons Point (Blues Pt Road) you're better to park there then grab the train to Waverton Station to the start of the walk.
