DSAi: Microsoft Ignite the Tour Unconference


The Data Science & Ai Association of Australia is proud to host a Microsoft Ignite the Tour Unconference, Friday the 14th from 10:30 to 11:30 am at the International Convention Centre in Darling Harbour.

Come along to see more about events, activities and initiatives DSAi has instore for 2020 and hear two riveting talks from DSAi’s co-founders on predictions, trends & developments that are set to occur for Data Science & Machine Learning in the next decade.


Paul Conyngham

In this talk 20 minute talk, Paul will discuss how low powered compute devices - commonly known as “the Edge”- are set to revolutionize applied machine learning in the 2020s. We will examine use cases, diving into how we make use of The Edge at Core on a daily basis. We will finish the talk up with a discussion of the emergence of the Cloud-Edge hybrid compute architecture that is set to power the next wave of applied tech in the coming decade.

Paul is a director for the non for profit - the Data science & Ai association of Australia, DSAi where they fulfill their mission of connecting the Machine Learning and Data Science communities of Australia through events & education.

In addition to DSAi, Paul works as a co-founder at Core Intelligence Technologies, a full stack machine learning dev powerhouse- where we regularly deploy machine learning models to low energy devices on the Azure Edge.


Jacky Koh

Jacky Koh is the co-founder of DSAi (Data Science and Ai Association of Australia), a non for-profit association that is determined to connect the data scientist and machine learning community of Australia.

In addition to DSAi, Jacky koh currently works as a co-founder at OnSearch, an A.I powered search engine that returns more personalised and relevant search results autonomously. Saving all the hassle of high maintenance and configuration of traditional search engines.

Jacky's talk will cover the following:

- Identify issues with traditional search engines
- Deep dive into improvements an A.I powered search engine can make
- Examine advanced search capabilities of top companies
- Demo implementations of these advanced search capabilities
- How these solutions can be integrated with existing Microsoft Azure stacks
