Sydney Python

Details

Welcome to our first post lock-down in person meetup. We have 2 great talks to kick us off this year.

Talk 1:
Jack Simpson, Director at Endgame Economics (LinkedIn, Twitter)

Exploring the National Electricity Market with Python
Every 5 minutes a linear optimisation sets the price of electricity and dispatches power stations across the country.
This talk will delve into the mechanics of how this system works, and describe the role Python plays enabling us to wrangle the huge datasets this process generates.

Talk 2:
Jacky Wong, Founding Scientist/Engineer. Python Enthusiast (LinkedIn)

Clustering Unstructured Data
With more and more unstructured text being generated, it is becoming increasingly important to be able to capture insights and summaries of unstructured text via clustering. This talk discusses modern approaches such as vector databases, transformers and experimentation stacks and providing fast iteration loops and testing AI.
