Summer's on its way, and things are looking brighter ahead! Let's enjoy the start of the longer days together at our April meetup, where we'll be hosting two exciting talks.
First up will be Anjana Silva, who is a familiar face at the Symfony UK meetups. Anjana developed his own API documenting tool on top of Symfony using MSON. In his talk he will give us a tour of his solution and show us the benefits of using MSON for describing API endpoints.
We also have Pauline Vos joining us with her presentation "Get Social! Implementing Social Login in your Symfony Project". Pauline will show us how to use social providers to increase sign-up conversion, while keeping your application flexible and well-tested.
A simple approach to create documents for your API endpoints using MSON.
Creating online documents for your API endpoints must be easy to prepare and easy to share with your desired target audience.
APIDocumenter tool helps you to create a user-friendly document (i.e: a web page) for your API endpoint using a blueprint syntax called MSON (which is very easy to learn) and to easily share the document with your end-user/ users. Whether you are a tech wizard or a non-techie, with the help of the APIDocumenter tool, you will be able to easily create API documents, customise your document, manage access controls and share them with your desired audience.
Creating web-based applications with the highest robustness and unmatchable scalability requires huge support from the underlying framework. This is where the Symfony framework comes into the picture. Thankfully to the power of Symfony's Microservices framework and various other Symfony bundles (i.e. security-bundle, swiftmailer-bundle, etc), the architectural journey was a smooth and sleek experience.
Anjana is Web Development Team Lead at MYHSM, a company which provides Hardware Security Modules to the financial industry.

Get Social! Implementing Social Login in your Symfony Project
You build a beautiful application, only to have users drop off at the registration step. It's a challenge many of us have struggled with. Social login can lower the bar for users, and increase conversion in your on-boarding funnel. Implementing it can be very straightforward, but what happens when you need something more specific for your application? And how do you make sure the entire round-trip is tested properly? We'll discover all the pitfalls and challenges and how to solve them in this talk.
Pauline is Lead Software Engineer at Instapro in Amsterdam, and runs training workshops on using Git to its fullest capabilities.
