SIG’s soldering workshop is almost here. If you plan on participating, please read on.

General Info

This workshop is really part one of a two part series. The first part will cover the skills necessary for thru-hole soldering. This includes both soldering and desoldering techniques. We will also be touching on some basic ESD principles throughout the workshop. There are two kits available for this workshop; one is a non-working practice soldering kit. The other is a fully functional Freeduino (Arduino compatible) kit. If you are a hobbyist, owning and knowing how to use a Freeduino microcontroller is invaluable. Here are just a few examples of what you can do with this little wonder.

Check Stay tuned for future workshops where we will cover the programming of the Freeduino.

Kits

There are two available kits for this workshop. If you are currently a member, please purchase the kit from the link below. The deadline for purchasing a kit is Monday March 12th at 12:00 PM. Because this workshop includes the use of chemicals and soldering tools, we ask that anyone under the age of 17 be accompanied by an adult.
