About Music For People. Started in the mid 1980s by Grammy-Award winning composer and cellist David Darling, along with Bonnie Insul, small groups of musicians, players and those interested in exploring world traditions for making music developed a music bill of rights to guide and shape future generations of improvisational (spontaneous) music makers. Musicianship and leadership, as well as facilitation programs were developed to expand the ability to reach more individuals. Health and healing aspects of music have been added, as we reach future generations of players.
As we head into our 40th year, special events and workshops (National, Regional and Local) are planned to help celebrate. We will be scheduling concerts and workshops here in Syracuse. Please stayed tuned for more info regarding these offerings. As always, all are welcome.
