How Do We Know We're Not in the Matrix? Berkeley and Radical Skepticism

Details

Can we really know anything about the world? Can we ever know whether or not we’re dreaming or inside the Matrix? Is there any way to fight against the absurdity of radical skepticism?

Join us as we discuss versions of radical skepticism, from George Berkeley’s denial of the existence of matter, to David Hume’s analysis of radical doubt plus his common sense solution. We’ll also cover some other solutions to this radical skepticism, including that of René Descartes and G. E. Moore.

Feel free to watch the following two videos to get in the headspace for our discussion!
