Stoicism, Part 1: Marcus Aurelius’ Meditations

Details
Let’s discuss that famous Stoic guide to life, the Meditations, by Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius, who died in 180 AD. What is his philosophy about? What are his ethics? In what ways can his philosophy help you in your life? Did he get anything wrong?
We’ll discuss:
How to deal with difficult people.
How to motivate ourselves to get up in the morning.
How to better commit ourselves to our duties.
How to face death.
And much more!
No need to read the book before you arrive, but I highly recommend it. It’s extremely accessible - I believe the Penguin version is quite good, though I don’t have it myself.
