Collaboration between designers and developers is a well known problem and many companies have taken steps to solve it: restructuring teams, modifying processes and workflows, and utilizing tools like Zeplin and Bit.dev. Many of those solutions are good steps to take, but design technology gets to the heart of the issue by promoting development fluency amongst designers and design fluency amongst developers to create a shared language for the flow of ideas between designers and developers.
