About this class:

If you’re interested in building your own website, editing a current website, or want to dive into web development from the beginning, then this is the class for you! It is important to learn the basic elements of web development before going on to more advanced concepts and languages. This class will teach you how to structure a webpage with HTML and style it with CSS. We will guide you through the basics, answer any questions that you may have and leave you with readily applicable skills.

Prerequisites:

-This is an introductory course that covers the basics of building a website, so there are no prerequisites.

Requirements:

-Please bring your own laptop, NOT a netbook or tablet.
-Install a modern web browser (Google chrome, Safari or Firefox)
-Please download a text editor before the start of class. We recommend Sublime Text 2 or 3.

About Your Teacher:

Kseniya Hogan is a financial analyst who has been practicing web development for the past year. She started with Code Academy and eventually took a class with New York Code and Design Academy in 2015, realizing quickly that web development was her true passion. Kseniya is currently taking an Advanced Web Development class at Syracuse University and working on several freelance projects. She loves designing and building simple, clean websites and hopes to inspire other women to try out this exciting field.

When she’s not nerding out on her computer, Kseniya likes to run, read classic novels, and spend time with her husband and her furry companion, Coco.
