Details
Hello, students, instructors, and partners of Careers in Code!
Please join us for our virtual Careers in Code kickoff meeting on Thursday, March 11th, 2021 @ at 5:30pm!
Careers in Code is a coding bootcamp that teaches computer programming to women and minorities to help fight poverty in Central NY. We provide students with the technical skills they need to obtain internships and entry-level software development jobs with local employers after 24 weeks of instruction.
This will be an informal networking opportunity between accepted students, instructors, and partners of the program. Following the kickoff and networking portion, students will stay for a virtual orientation.
[5:30pm - 6:30pm] Kickoff, introductions from students, instructors, partners, icebreaker event
[6:30pm - 7:00pm - Accepted students only] Virtual orientation
Accepted Students - We invite you to you say a few words during introductions for everyone to learn more about you, your background, and your goals for the program. This is a great opportunity to meet the other students, instructors, and partners supporting the program! Following the networking portion, we’ll be going over a brief virtual orientation. Please note that this is meant for accepted students of our program.
Instructors and Teaching Assistants - We invite you to say a few words during introductions for students to learn about you, your background, and the modules you’ll be teaching / supporting. This is a great opportunity to meet with the students for the program and learn more about them!
Partners - We invite you to you say a few words during introductions for students to learn about you and your organization. We also welcome you to share potential internship and entry-level positions that are available at your company for students upon graduation. If you just want to come to hang out, that’s cool too.
