Careers in Code - Capstone Presentations & Graduation Ceremony - Cohort 6
Details
Hello students, instructors, teaching assistants, partners, and technologists of Careers in Code!
Please join us at the James Commons Campus Center at Le Moyne College for our student capstone project presentations and graduation ceremony! This year we'll be featuring a new format: science fair style that will allow community members to get more 1:1 time with our graduates to learn more about their capstone projects.
Careers in Code is a coding bootcamp that teaches computer programming to women and people of color to help fight poverty in Central NY. We provide students with the technical skills they need to obtain internships and entry-level software development jobs with local employers after 24 weeks of instruction.
The capstone project is a personal endeavor by each student to showcase their skills by building a full-stack application of their choice which they have been working on over the past 24 weeks. Students will demonstrate their projects, explain the difficult problems and challenges they addressed, and celebrate the new skills they have learned.
Immediately following the capstone project presentations, we’ll hold our graduation ceremony where each student will receive a course diploma.
Our tentative graduation schedule is as follows:
[5:30pm - 6:00pm] Welcome, Refreshments, Networking
[6:00pm - 6:15pm] Introduction and Opening Remarks
[6:15pm - 7:00pm] Science Fair Style Capstone Project Presentations
[7:00pm - 7:15pm] Certificate Pickup and Photos
[7:15pm - 8:00pm] Networking & Mingling
Light refreshments will be served!
We’re so proud of our students. We can’t wait to see them graduate and take the next step in their software development careers.
