Nix is a reproducible way to glue software builds together. It is a bit like Buck or Bazel, but takes a purely functional approach. Compared to most build systems, it can do a bit more and also provide Linux kernels, system dependencies and development environments. It also does not require you to drop your favorite CMake or other build system, Nix builds on top of that.

Useful for people working as DevOps, system maintainers, server managers, software engineers.

In this evening you can attend a few short talks by experienced Nix users on how they use Nix.

Talks:

  1. Running a website on a VPS with Nix (Willem)
  2. Den framework (Pol)
  3. Comparison with other immutable distros (Yvan)
