In this workshop you will learn how to make a smart plant pot: a pot that knows when it is time to water the plant.
It may be helpful to have some experience with programming, systems programming or compiled languages such as Rust.
The main tools will be:
- Small micro-controller
- Rust compiler (for this workshop)
We plan to make small groups of 2-3 people to compete against each-other in successive stages.
Don't worry if you are new to this topic! We will provide basic instructions / templates to get started with one of the following approaches:
- single/multicore
- sync/async
- low-level
Important! Please bring:
- laptop with charger
- micro-usb cable
- pot / water container
What we will provide (but you can also bring your own):
- Micro-controller board: Raspberry Pi Pico / ESP32
- Humidity sensor (> 10pp)
- Small DC Motor (> 10 pp)
- MOSFET, diode
- Jumper wires
- Breadboard (> 10 pp)
After the workshop you can buy anything you borrowed for max. 20 euros.
