At our end of the year event in the new office of Lufthansa Systems Hungária in Szeged, we will discuss 2 super interesting topics again.

Whether you're new to data or an experienced data professional, we welcome you.

What can you expect if you join us?

• In 2 blocks, each of our speakers will present 1 hot topic followed by a short Q&A session - we're counting on your opinions and questions here.
• Afterwards, you can join an informal but also professional discussion with the speakers or in smaller or larger teams.

1st block

• Title: The Magic of Time Series: The Science of Sequential Data
• Description: "During my presentation, I will dive into the exciting world of time series, exploring the basic concepts and relationships that surround time series and sequences.
• First, I will introduce you to time series and point out their importance and predictability in data analysis.
• I will unpack the basic concepts that arise when analysing time series, and examine the differences between discrete and continuous time series.
• Walking through the field of forecasting, I will introduce time series-based forecasting methods and share where the science in this area is today. I will discuss in detail the concept of covariates and its role in time series analysis.
• During the talk, I will cover some real-world applications such as energy consumption prediction, airport usage analysis, and disease detection from ICD10 sequences. My aim is to inspire the audience to make discoveries in the world of time series and to create an opportunity for questions and free discussion on this exciting topic."
• Speaker: Dr. Gábor Kőrösi
• Format: Lecture + Q&A
• Introduction of the speaker: "My name is Dr. Gábor Kőrösi, I have a degree in Electrical Engineering and a PhD in Data Science from the Institute of Computer Science. My research interests include processing and forecasting discrete sequences and time series. I have extensive experience in data analysis, and have worked in areas such as oil production forecasting, oil field classification, ICD10 sequence processing, and the development of various recommender systems."

2nd block

• Title: AI on the Ground: Reinforcement Learning for Aviation Operations
• Description: "Join us for an in-depth exploration of how reinforcement learning revolutionizes aviation ground operations. We'll delve into a specific operational challenge and its innovative data-driven solution. Discover why we chose reinforcement learning, witness it's application to a complex real-world problem, and gain insights into the data science behind our journey. Get ready to explore the world of aviation through a data scientist's lens.
  The presentation consists of 3 main parts:

• Reinforcement learning and outline of the solution
• Feedback, usage and difficulties"
• Speaker: László Kovács and Kristóf Mátéffy
• Format: Lecture + Q&A
• Introduction of the speaker: "I'm László Kovács, holding a Ph.D. in electrical engineering and informatics. My extensive research experience encompasses the ownership of several patents and a robust background in AI and Data Analytics. Over the years, I've actively contributed to various AI products across diverse domains. Currently, I serve as a Product Owner at Lufthansa Systems Hungária. My academic journey also includes a master's degree in psychology, offering a unique perspective to my research and work, especially in the realm of human-AI interactions.
• Introduction of the speaker: "I'm Kristóf Mátéffy, with seven years of experience in AI and five years in industry; my expertise primarily revolves around harnessing data and AI to deliver impactful solutions. I am deeply committed to utilizing data to create practical and influential outcomes. Presently, I hold the position of Senior Data Scientist at Lufthansa Systems Hungária."
